Power Steering Pump

I've had to add fluid to the Power Steering reservoir for the 2nd time now in about a month. The truck ('07 Sierra Crew Cab with Vortec Max) has 85K miles on it. I guess this means I'm going to have to get it replaced. I checked with a local service place that I trust and they stated it would be a 1/2 day job and run about $385. I'm wondering how difficult it is and if I can do it myself. I'm OK at working on vehicles but just don't know if this is something that can be done by the end user or if it needs to be left to the pros. Also, are there other possibilities that might be the problem here?
