How do you go about getting an extra wire if you decide to keep the mute wire in place? I have OnStar services and no extra harness to get a wire from.

PAC audio's OS-4 does the trick.

I think he means how to get an extra wire because the bypass calls for moving the mute wire in the Pioneer harness. What I have done when using the OS-4 cjt28 or something similar is I have just used a small gauge wire, stripped the insulation back and just fed the wire into the spot the moved mute wire would be in, and fold the end of the wire up around the plug a bit so that when you plug the harness in, the wire is pinched between the harness plug and the recepticle of the radio. It's plastic all around so you don't have to worry about it grounding or touching other metal components. Not the most ideal way to do it but it gets the job done when you don't have wire pins and a crimper.
