So this week i'm looking at purchasing a katzkin kit for my 2010 silverado LT. Anyone the cheapest website to buy the kits from? So far the cheapest I've found is $715 from autointeriorslive.com. Anyone purchased from these guys and what are your experiences?

Shopsar.com is good. There was a group buy on another site that worked very well.

Not trying to doubt you, but everything I've heard about their leather has been great. Excellent fitment and good quality leather.

Did you have an incident with them or something?

If you are looking to buy Katzkin, they don't sell them. Their reputation is not very good.

This is also the first time I have heard anything but praise for them. Those I have talked with are always happy.

A couple of vehicles were done up at Hood Chevy in Covington, LA in Katzkins. They actually were far superior to the factory leather. They had a rich leather smell more akin to German luxury vehicle. I got a quote for a NOLA area guy to fully install katzkins two tone with contrasting thread for $1,300 (silverado extended cab).

I have katzkin leather that i installed in my truck and could not be more content. The quality of the leather is excelent and my wife even comented that the next car she buys she would like the same kit installed. As an added bonus the smoke smell from the previous owner went away after the install.

Only word of caution dont do it yourself!!!!!!!!! I run a shop I have 2 ASE master Techs I did this at my house it took like 8 hrs if i did it all over again I would pay an interior shop to have them do it and then wouldent know where the mistakes are. That time is including the 15 minutes it took to get the seats out the rest was spent cursing at the seat trying figure out how diffrent components came apart and how to get them back togather after install.

I purchased my kit for like 550 on ebay after calling and talking to the dealer. Search Katzkin on ebay and look for the guy with like 3000 positive feedbacks. Call him and talk to him.

Great stuff only change would be to make the under side of the rear seat leather so dog hair does not collect there.

send me a mesage with any questions!

i have Katzkin in my truck, went with the ebony and dove tail grey perforated inserts and stitching. i absolutely LOVE it!

i ordered mine through a local interior shop, and they did all the work as well as add some extra foam for more cushion. i had a problem with the front driver seat clip holding but they fixed it with 3 screws.

I installed mine too. Not a fun job. It took the entire day and there were a couple of broken plastic pieces that I haven't fixed yet. The latch for the jump seat broke even though I was very careful dissecting it out. It isn't available from Generous Motors, you have to buy the entire seat bottom which ain't gonna happen. The install wasn't easy, I had a good friend who had done it before and it took at least 8 hrs. for both of us to finish it. But it looks great, it is a Roadwire kit that I got as part of the group buy from autointeriors. Not a single problem with them, I had it in a week.

I had Katskin installed in my truck over 2 years ago and have nothing but high praise for them. So much better then the stock leather or the lint trapping fabric. I bought mine from Clint Drennen and he gave me a great deal. Here is his contact info:

    • Hello All!   My 2019 Colorado 3.6 LT, 4WD Crew Cab has approximately 77,500 miles and I recently began experiencing the well-known transmission shudder between about 30 and 65 mph. The problem had worsened to the point that I could no longer attribute it to road conditions - and I had decided to bring the truck to the dealer - when recently, I experienced a sudden loss of power while driving at maybe 40 MPH. Several warning lights flashed, the “Check Stabilitrack” message appeared, and the Check Engine, Stabilitrack, and Traction Control icons remained illuminated. The truck regained driving power, but it stayed in a low gear with unusually high RPMs for the speed. (limp mode?) Because I was only about two miles from home, driving slowly, I was able to make it back and run an OBD-II scan, which showed fault codes U0101, P0700, and U0100. My next trip in the truck was to drive it to the dealer the following day. That trip began normally, but after about a mile I experienced another loss of power, along with the same warning lights and the same “Check Stabilitrack” message. As before the truck remained driveable, but again operated at an abnormally high RPM-to-speed ratio and seemed stuck in a single gear. About a mile later, the dashboard lit up once more, this time displaying “Check 4WD.” Soon after that, I arrived at the dealer. I have verified that the truck still has its original factory transmission fluid, which means it has never received the corrective fluid exchange outlined in GM Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355.  That was Thursday of last week and I've heard nothing yet from the dealer.    According to Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355 and the build date of my truck, my truck should have the newer LV fluid. I've done a little research and read something about a problem with the wiring harness as well.   Anyone have an insights into this situation?  Thank you!!

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.
