Help Tranny Problems

I have a 2005 Suburban LT. It has 87,000 miles on it. I have owned it for about 3 months, and put 7000 miles on it. It was a salvage vehicle, I rebuilt it. Haven't had a single problem with it. In fact in town I get 16.9 MPG and 19.8 on the HWY. So far so good. Until today. I was driving to work pulled away from a stoplight just like normal and the tach went all the way up to 4000 rpm's. Took the foot off the accelerator and it shifted. I got to work and backed into my spot and i felt a shutter. Ouch. Now it seems to slip internitantly. Anybody got any ideas about what is going on?

Thanks

Sounds like you need a new trans.......sometimes they go suddenly. Friend went to grocery store, parked truck and went shopping. Came out, started truck and went a few feet and engine started racing and he needed a tow truck.

4L60's are kind of a hit and a miss thing. they either last over 200,000 miles or blow up around 100,000. the trans in my 2003 suburban blew at 119,000 miles.

that being said, get ready to pay for a rebuild or a new trans.

a refurbished one from gm comes with a good warranty...otherwise rebuild, don't go find a junk yard one that could end up being wasted money
