Sierra Denali Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

I got a 2008 Sierra Denali and I am thinking about purchasing a bull bar for it, it says it isn't compatible with the Sierra Denali but it is with other Sierra Crew Cab's. My main question here is, is the Denali body style any different than the other 1500 Sierras?

It's the same body for both denali and Sierras. And I see no reason why it would fit other than the lower grill piece is different. Most likely thats the reason they claim it won't work, but I'm betting if you really want it installed, it would fit with little effort.

Congrats on the new denali. They are great

Thanks! I love my truck, at first I was disappointed when I heard you can't lift them but I talked to a guy on the forum who has a lifted 08 Denali and explained how to do it so I am extremely jacked now!

Yes i can be done  I've seen several done :P It may require different 1/2 shafts up front but otherwise, not a problem.

Hi Christian,

first I was also thinking that lifting a Denali might be a problem because of the AWD but all you need is a quality kit a new driveshaft...and boom there you go. Mine was lifted February this year and I didn't regret it one second. I made about 9000 kilometers since then and no probs at all. Rides like a dream....take a look at my post in the link...some pics of her...btw. I've got the rear wheel liners from GM installed now and it looks a lot different and better now :-)

I love this site hahaha That my friend is a gorgeous truck! Exactly what mine will look like! What size lift and tires do you have? By the way nice choice in white ;)

Edit: Sorry didn't read the signature still very nice looking truck! Another member told me I need a dual cardan dual cv front drive shaft? Is that what you did?

Posted

Yes they just changed the front driveshaft against a double cv shaft...you need to do that because of the vibrations that would appear otherwise due to the fact that you have to drop the diff with the lift kit and so the angle of the driveshaft will make the stock one not work properly because of the AWD what leads to a vibration
