Silverado Leveling Kit Install

I've ordered my RC 2" level. It'll be at my door on Friday. I'm trying to decide how I want to get it on. I'm a bit nervous to try the install myself, just for fear of messing something up/doing something wrong. I called around to some suspension places in the Houston area, and they gave me quotes of around $250-$300 for both the install and alignment. How difficult is it going to be for me and a buddy to get that kit on? Is it worth paying the $170-$200 for a shop to do it for me? Thanks for the help guys.

No way is that install worth 200$, especially with just the RC bottom spacer. Its a very simple install, some people do it without even taking the wheel off. Just read the instructions well when you get it, its to easy. Should take you about 30-45 mins. for complete install, but i always take my time.

Alright, I watched some videos and feel pretty confident that I can do this myself. The only question that I have is, do I have to make a big deal of tightening the bolts back to factory spec? I don't have a torque wrench readily available. Do I need to get one? Or can I just tighten them back close to how tight they were before?

you dont "have" to have one, it would be nice. but just make sure you look over and tighten a few times in the coming weeks

I got the kit in the mail today, and I was disappointed to see that the spacers weren't made from steel. They look like some sort of heavy duty plastic or something. Is this true with all their kits? Has no one had a problem with these spacers wearing out?

its a spacer, not a wear item. never heard of one breaking either.

I have the same leveling kit in my 2011 sierra, and I was also disappointed to see that it was made from plastic. however the plastic is very similar to the stuff used for body lifts. watched a back hoe put all its weight on the bucket and lift the machine up while pushing off the body lift block and the body lift block didnt have any damage.

so far I have had zero problems with this leveling kit. I must have gotten smoked on my alignment i paid 82.99 for 15000 mile/1 year warranty. or i could have paid 200 and got a life time warranty and all the alignments i want for the life of the vehicle
