70-80's Track Weapon Hauler - Nasa/azdrift

Hey everyone! I'm Josh and I race for National Auto Sports Association (NASA). My main weapon is a completely gutted and built 300zx. You can see some videos of me with my old race club's website http://www.youtube.com/user/ApexPirates. I also drift a 2002 V6 Mustang for fun, but mostly my daily driver. Soon my 300zx is going to be a full time racer and I can't drive her everywhere, hence my search for a track weapon hauler.

I have resources and skill to do some tricky modifications. My problem is always getting started. All the rating for towing capacity, GVW, payload, etc...can get confusing.

Here is my goal:

- Late 70's to early 80's C-10

- Can haul * 300zx 3200 lbs

* 24ftx8ft Trailer 3000 lbs +/-

* Basic Tools and Utilities 500 lbs ???

* Me and My biggest fan (my wife :-) + 380 lbs___

7080 lbs +/-

I know going with a 1500 is asking for trouble, but I have a thing for classic C-10's. Plus with the room we have to work with a 1500 works way better. I'm looking for what parts to make sure I have so a C-10 can haul safely.

Here is what I found so far, any good???

Engine - 454 LF8

Transmission - Turbo Hydramatic

Transfer Case - NP 205

Rear Assembly - 14 bolt

Tow Hitch - ???

Brakes - All Wheel Disc Conversion???

Just looking for some basics on where to start and to meet more gearhead friends! If anyone lives in the Pheonix AZ area come check out my races for NASA!!! Thanks for reading!
