Why is my truck temps redlining while pull my trailer up a grade. 2005 2500HD lifted with 35 tires , no chip. When I pull my 30ft travel trailer unk weight my transmission and engine temp gauges redline. Only happens pulling up a grade at lower highway speeds.

I'd start by checking fan clutch and radiator condition

 

I would also upgrade to a larger external trans cooler

Mine does the same thing and only have 33's. I'm going to add the trucool 40k transmission cooler and see how it does.

What rpm's is the engine at? What is your rear gear ratio?
