I have a 2010 silverado 5.3 6spd auto i think 308 gears

i hear and feel a klunk some times when driving slow, then stepping on the gas

i just felt, it was between gear changes, but last night i cheched the drive shaft and felt quite

a bit of slack ( in neutral parking brake set) The u joints seem ok so it is comming from rear end

20,300 miles I take it easy and dont hot rod the truck

Any input anyone

Thanks

Why don't you ask the dealer since your still under warranty.

half to one inch slack is OK, I trained my foot, now it knows how to compensate with slack :)

Drop the drive shaft and pack the slip yoke splines with grease and reinstall. It will take up most all the slack your feeling :)

what if Grease enter in to Transmission ? - some says don't use grease :)

I would put some grease, but not pack

You won't get grease in the transmission,... Pack the spline and you'll be fine. If when you put the drive shaft back on, and it feels tight as it's going into the transmission, as if the driveshaft got about 1/2" longer, then you did it right

there is a TSB from GM saying use only trans oil because there is nothing preventing grease from going into the trans

X2 take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. I had the same issue on my 2010 and the greased the splines and it seemed to work for awhile.
