Oil Pressure

Hi,

I have a 2011 Silverado Z71 with 5,000 miles. The engine is a 5.3l, i changed my oil last week with Mobil1 5w 30 Synthetic Advanced & a Mobile 1 oil filter. It seems that my oil pressure gauge is reading lower than it did before,is this common with a synthetic oil? When driving down the road it's at 40 or a hair over,when stopped at a light at idle i have seen it between 20 & 40 on a 90degree day. Just want to make sure i don't have any problems!!! Thanks!!

Mobil 1 is good oil. Any oil these days is good, but Mobil 1 is up there with Amsoil as one of the best.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as your oil level is where it's supposed to be.

There is nothing wrong with what your seeing on the guage.
