Having A Few Different Problems

I was driving from Wisconsin to Illinois Sunday night when my truck started making a loud knocking noise, it was slow at idle and picked up with the RPM's. My oil pressure was only at about 20 PSI. A little later on the A/C on the drivers side was fine, but the passengers side was really hot. When I got home I opened the hood and noticed that my coolant reservoir was bone dry, I filled it up and it took an entire gallon. After filling it up the A/C was still not operating properly. It's a 2003 1500 with a 5.3l, if anyone has any ideas on any of the problem it will be great help.

Also I started the truck up today and it didn't knock at all but the A/C was still not working right and my oil pressure is fine. I don't see any coolant leaks, and there isn't any in the oil and I cant smell it in the exhaust, but it is still going down.

Sounds to me like it could be a cooling fan issue considering the a/c is failing. You're probably overheating and evaporating your coolant unless of course you see white smoke out the back?

Sounds like you've got 2 things going on. Possible head gasket issue since your eating coolent, and there's a damper in the dash thats not opening right and why your getting heat on one side and air on the other. I've seen both these issues come up several times before.
