Fuel Lines When Replacing Fuel Pump - Special Connectors?

Preparing to replace the fuel pump in my 2001 Suburban 1500 when I get back from vacation. Is there anything special about the project other than a typical in-tank fuel pump replacement? Are there special connectors on any of the fuel lines?

depends on if the fuel and EVAP lines are connected with plastic or metal fittings.

 

 

For plastic fittings, depress the retainer tabs with a small, flat screwdriver until the lines are disconnected and replace the retainer inside the female end. For metal fittings, use a fuel line separator tool from an auto supply shop that is the right size for your vehicle's fittings.
