So I Bought A New 11 Sierra Denali

so i picked up my new 11 sierra denali, and the dealer afetr all the tooth pulling with the finance problems wants to gift me an alarm system - get this - for free. "wow" i said, "what kind of alarm is it?". "well, its this really good alarm that remote starts the vehicle, and gives really good protection and comes with a two way key fob reciever". "aha", i say. "What brand is it? will you have to cut and splice wires like they used to years ago (and still do) under the steering column and make the new connections with electrical tape and after a little while ill have starting problems because there will be too much resistance due to the so-so reconnection of the wiring?" deer in headlights look. "But my new truck allready comes with remote start on the key, and allthough its just a basic alarm, its still an alarm". "but the new one is better, blah blah blah". "ok, let me look at it, how does it work?". "well, it plugs into the bcm, and you can even track it online if you want". "aha, but so can you if im a day late on the payment right?" "and you made me sign something saying if i put anything aftermarket in the vehicle that i void my warranty, thats not factory or a gm product".

 

 

The lesson here learned boys and girls..... if its too good to be true, then it is.

I remember when i bought my 2000 trans am they claimed that the factory was out of Cd players when they ordered the car so it had a tape player in it they made a big dead about throwing in a cd changer, i figured what the hay.... when i got it home it was one of those $100 kraco changers and they velcroed the controls to the dashboard.... i disconnected it alll and threw it in the garbage.

Why would you let them do it? If you wanted an alarm with two way remote why not get the advanced remote start and the shock sensor add ons? Or were they just trying to sweeten the deal? Should have just given you free floor mats haha

 

Side note though they can track your truck with onstar anyway if you are late on the payments.
