i have 22inch rims on my silverado and lile the wet look on my tires after i wash the truck. I have been using Meguiars Hot Shine and a couple of other brands and the tire dressing flings all over the side of my nice clean truck when i drive it. Any one have any suggestions or brands that dont do this

Adam's Super VRT (Vinyl, Rubber, Tire Dressing)

its silicone free, it absorbs into the rubber so it won't fling off, and its water repellant. it doesn't have a super high gloss shine, more of a medium gloss look, but i think it looks great!

i use the meguires hot shine, and i did notice a problem with if flying off. the less you put on, the less would fly off. but, the more you put on, the shinier it gets. i always settled for in between and delt with a black spot or two :dunno:

I think this belongs in the appearance and car care section? I am moving it there

I tossed out the Meguiars Endurance after trying Perfect Tire Gloss from Zaino. It's not real glossy....just nice and black as I like it.

Black Magic Tire Wet Foam. Drys fairly quickly, but I usually wait 1/2 hr or so before I move the vehicle to make sure it is completely dry.

I use armor-all extreme shine I think its called, the key is to wipe the excess dont just spray and leave, and do not drive right away! experience.

i thought tire dressing damages the rubber of the tires

yes, tire dressing which contains silicone damages the tire by causing dry rot and brownish stains. any aerosol and most most of the over-the-counter stuff contains silicone.

Adam's, Zaino, some stuff sold @ Autogeek.net are silicone free.

if you have tire dressing flinging off the tires, its most likely got silicone on it, because the rubber isn't absorbing the stuff, its just sitting there on top of it.

Poorboys bold & bright tire dressing, no fling whatsoever.

I ve been using the Zanio Tire Gloss and it works great without any of it flinging off while driving.

You can get it to gloss up by putting two coats on or more.

Maybe THATS why it stopped flinging off, the armorall extreme shine is wipe on, although I found if you wipe the aerosole stuff it wont fling off and it still made the tires shine.

megs endurance, megs hyperdressing, optimum opti-bond, 303 aerospace, ultima tire and trim guard...all good products

alot of good tire dressings like meg's hyperdressing and opti-bond are water based and an be diluted if you either want a "wet" look or just a nice dark satin finish.
