I know this sounds crazy but I bought a replacement Onstar on eBay because the one in my Chevy Silverado 2004 is analog and I bought one that was digital I called Onstar to make sure it was digital based on the ESN # before I bought it now it's time to install it does anyone know where the module is? I would like to install this...... and is there anything i need to know before I install it Onstar said I needed to call in and give them the STID and esn # after I install it and the VIN# I can do that... but I don't want to disable the truck from the theft system like he said.. help!

Thanks,

Nicholas

well on the newer trucks it is behind and below the radio..

pretty sure in my 2000 Z71 it was behind the rear seat on the rear wall under the window, behind the panel, but I don't really recall. Could have also been behind the glove box.

not sure on a 2004..

I just talked to someone and they said it was behind the glove box... but if i disconnect it would trigger some theft system? And my truck won't start unless its reprogrammed is that correct?
