'07 Door Handle Sticking

My driver's side door handle won't return to the closed position. It's an '07 Classic extended cab. The outside door handle doesn't return into the door all the way and then you cannot open the door from the inside. If I open the window, and push the outside handle in all the way it works fine every time. But if I don't remember to open the door from the outside and push the handle in all the way as I get in the truck, I will not be able to open the door from inside unless I opent he window and return the handle to it's resting position.

I cannot seem to figure out how to lubricate the handle inside the door or is there a spring that needs to be replaced? Any thoughts?

there is a spring inside of the hinged area, you have to remove the handle to get to it. I suspect the spring has snapped off at the joint, this is a pretty common problem with this style of handle, seen it happen on Toyota and Chryslers that have the same type of design (wouldn't be surprised if they came from the same manufacturer)..

you don't mention what handle you have (textured, painted, chrome) but the handles can be had pretty cheap on ebay or gmpartsdirect (if you prefer new) probably faster and easier to replace the handle than the spring.
