2003 4.3l Blazer Won't Start

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 Blazer with the 4.3l.

Back Story,

I overheated the engine and resulted in cracking the heads. I found some on ebay and proceeded to install them.

I am fairly handy on cars and am not shy with most procedures. I have the Haynes Repair Manual for my vehicle and use it for reference on most of what I do.

I have the engine assembled now but it will not start.

I put in new rotor, cap, plugs, and wires and have good spark.

I just went through and checked the compression today and I have between 125 and 140psi and the rings are worn, it took 2-3 revs to reach max pressure.

The gas is old but still will not start with a healthy dose of ether.

The air cleaner is not attached to facilitate ether and ease of access to other parts of the engine.

That should cover the 4 things an engine needs to start: fuel, spark, air, and compression.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
