How Can I Stop Water From Getting Into The Bed

Hello all,

Have a2009 GMC Sierrra 1500 Extended cab with 8' Bed.

I keep tools in it and the bed is capped, but with driving through rain, am getting a lot of water in the bed ... not so good for the tools.

Cap does not leak, bed has a liner.

But ... I can see 2 opening in the top front corners of the bed, almost like weep holes where the liner does not go all the way up too.

Seems when driving through the rain, the air flow between the bad/cap and the cab just forces water into these 2 openings, and when its raining hard, really dumps some water in.

Is this common?

The one thought I had was to try and make the whole bed waterproof and sealed by going with a Rhino liner. I would imagine the opening would need to be sealed somehow first than sprayed.

If anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated.

Also is an issue as I hope to use the truck for camping in the future and sleep in the bed, so watertight would be a nice thing

Any thoughts appreciated

water tight would also kill you in your sleep from asphyxiation

if you look under the bed rails from the inside you will notice that the interior panels do not fully seal to the underside of the bed rail all the way down like they used to. It may be possible to have a bedliner sprayed to fill the gaps, perhaps stuff the hole with cotton balls or something similar, the bedliner should support itself after it dries and the filler could deteriorate away with time. That area shouldn't be affected by cargo or touched by anything else anyway.

As a quick-fix, how about Great Stuff spray foam insulation where the holes are? Apply it and when it dries, trim off any excess.

I got a Linex spray liner when I bought my truck. It all but plugged both holes in the bed. I don't have a cap so now when it rains I get a wading pool in the bed of my truck.
