Yeah,we've seen a few here,we changed them out under warranty (the ones we changed were cracked around the lug nuts, under the center caps)

Just so those who's not familiar with them knows, its not the wheel itself thats cracking, its the chrome plastic "hub cap" thats glued onto the aluminum wheel, the wheels are still safe to drive on.

They actually glue it on? With Elmer's glue? :) I thought it was just held on with some friction clips or something similar.

Can you take the clad off? And if so, what does the wheel look like behind it? Paintable?

I guess you could take the plastic off,I just have no idea what it looks like under there.

Those look great!

Are these the chrome clad whels with the plastic removed? I wasn't able to view the pics on the other forum for some reason. If so, GM should use these as the OEM wheels and not the chrome clad ones.

If these were chrome, could you not use the center caps from the original wheels?

I would bring them in and insist you want new ones. I did. I said these things sell for over $300/ea from the dealer. I dont want to hear a word.

I would see if the dealer would be able to swap those out for some chrome 20" accessory wheels instead and pay the price difference. Shouldn't be that much.

Yes they are. The link above tell how to take the plastic off. The only thing that might not quite look exact is the center cap. Im sure someone will figure that out soon.

The price tag would lead you to believe they were made of solid white gold. :)
