Blew A Fuse And Can't Seem To Find It

I was hooking up power for the inside dome lights on my ARE cap/topper for my 2009 GMC 2500HD. I tapped into that bunch of wires under the dash to hook up another trailer brake controller. There is a few wires taped up under the dash that are labeled. One of the wires just said battery. It's a red wire with black stripe. Well somehow I touched the metal bracket under the dash with it and "pop" now it's dead. I pulled every fuse under the hood and in the fuse panel on the left side of the dash. All look fine to me. Does anyone know where this wire goes and what fuse would be tied into it? Seems like everything on the truck is working fine I just lost power to that wire. Thanks.

That might go into one of the big 60A mega-fuses in the under hood fuse block. Check all the big ones as well.

If its anything like on the 800s, check the 30 and 40 amp square fuses. They are the ones that are about a 1/2" square.

I believe that it is the second fuse (30A Jcase) in from the fender at the front of the underhood fuse box. If not then it is the one next to it, but I think that is the 40A trailer power wire connector.

I found it. It was the in line fuse I installed for the line go figure! I don't know how that popped and nothing else because the fuse was not in the holder when it popped. But I went back and checked it for shit and grins and sure enough it was popped. I'm all good! Thanks for the posts!
