Mossyoakglock Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Which web browser does everybody use? I figured most use Firefox but I just downloaded Google Chrome and tried it out. It's not bad. I did a speed test online and compared to Firefox it's consistently a little faster. I'm just curious about the security, etc of Chrome. Of those that use Chrome and have used Firefox, which do you like better and why?
Mckenzie Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I use firefox on my macbook pro because Safari did something to piss me off so i switched over
Carder09 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Very random question, but I use chrome also, once you start putting web sites and such you can type one letter most of the time, and press enter and your there, it will also remember your name, phone number, address, etc but I don't think it will remember credit card info so you may want to be careful woth that cause it will ask if you want to auto fill and remember passwords and such
Superperv23 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I use chrome but I also have firefox because sometimes certain websites all of the features will not work with chrome for some reason. I find chrome is a lot easier and clutter free than the others. I always uninstall IE and that prevents you from lots of problems it seems.
tanked_darren Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Google chrome is good I used to use firefox awhile ago
sk Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Try Opera and you'll never go back to another browser: http://www.opera.com Hands-down the fastest browser out there. Chrome is also good but just remember that Google tracks EVERYTHING you do in Chrome (read the fine print in the User Agreement some time when you are bored).
cfeiring Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 I use IE v 8 it works for me and my daughters like fire fox I tried using fire fox but it was too hard for me to get used to it.
pwall Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Firefox on Ubuntu. No IE (or windoze) for me.
delallen Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Google Chrome for me. I use 2 different computers and I like when I start my browser that I'm looking at the same thing. I guess my settings are saved on their site. I'm sure that Google would be bored to death tracking me...
Jackalope Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Anything (and pretty much everything) other than Internet Explorer.
old-chevy-dude Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I use the O/S native browsers: I.E. 8 for Windows Safari for Mac Firefox for Ubuntu. seeing as I use a varity of different computers and O/S system in my job, I use what ever is native.. I've never had issues with any of them, and I.E. 8 is my personal choice, as long as you have it set up right and don't allow third party apps to install un-needed toolbars and add-ons it works very well. Mine loads quick, never crashes and I've had as many as 15 tabs open without issue. One thing I do not like is the New Google Toolbar, it searches as you type, and I do not like that feature at all, and even though I disable it, if you close and reopen I.E. the default setting returns. Can't stand Chrome at all.
ChevyTech77 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 FF here but I have to keep IE around for GM websites as some of them do not work in FF because GM does not support anything but IE.
