"Burping" Cooling system?

My 99 has some air in the cooling system. I can hear it pass through the heater core when i first start up the vehicle.

Is there anyway to "burp" the system?  ???

Fill the coolant a little over what it should be (about an inch), start the truck and let it get to normal operating temp, shut it off and let it cool, repeat process two or three more times.  Add coolant to keep it at the normal level after the first cycle.    :thumb:
