Ac Recharging Issue

I'm trying to recharge the AC in my 2004 Silverado but I'm noticing that the gauge that reads the pressure shoots way past the max as soon as I connect the can of r134 and it wont recharge the AC at all. Any reasons why it would be doing this? I recently had an issue with a couple of my blend door actuators going bad. Could that be related to this issue?

What is the problem with the AC that you need to refill it? If the gauge is already going past max then you may not be able to recharge because you already have too much refrigerant in the system. I'd try to take refrigerant out to get the gauge reading back down to nominal level then go back to your original problem. Just a thought.

Sounds like you don't know enough about what you're trying to do. Educate yourself on how an AC system operates.

Well the reason I'm trying to recharge it is because it's pretty much stopped blowing out any cold air. I've had the truck for about 7 years and it has just now stopped blowing cold. I figure that's a sign of needing recharging.

Is your compressor kicking on? Is it staying on? Clutch? Fuses good? Power & grounds good? Blower turning on just no cold air. Like I said take some refrigerant out then start some checks.

To start simple, do you have all your controls on max air when on? Don't see how your system is overcharged if it stopped blowing cold air, I believe there is a sensor that stops the compressor from turning when really low on refridgerant, at least mine had one in my ol' 94.
