Transmission Issues...what Could It Be?

My 2006 Escalade has a wierd isssue that I have never seen before.

When starting out normally (I drive easy) from a stop, the transmission shifts but seems to "flutter"...hard to describe. It is almost like it shifts in and out of gear and back in again....it all happens in about 1/4 a second. It only does it on the 1st to 2nd gear shift.....no other time.

Then, if I accelerate a bit harder from the stop, it will not do it. Also, if I drive away extremely easy from a stop, it will not do it.

I am beginning to think it is not the tranny, but rather a tranny mount, U-joint, or ????????

Anyone else have a goofy tranny like mine????

do you have any codes?

did you check your trans fluid ?

is your transmission a 4L60E?

then:

1-2 Shift shudder at WOT; delayed or abnormal 1-2 shift; There's a problem ONLY on the 1-2 shift: 1-2 accumulator piston cracked or stuck cocked in the bore. Check the yellow spring inside the accum housing for breakage. Also, if the accumulator housing walls are scored, the housing must be replaced.

I have checked the fluid level, and it was flushed by the dealer about 10k miles ago. At WOT there is no issue....only when I normally drive away from a stop.

I towed a pontoon boat (about 2200 pounds) and with the extra weight there was no issue what so ever. On a very cool morning, the first few shifts are normal....it starts again once the fluid warms us, I guess.

I towed a kawasaki Mule on a 5x10 utility trailer from St Louis to Indy and back and never had an issue...take the trailer off, an it starts again....

Everything else pertaining to the transmission is perfect.

I am starting to wonder if it could be some chain stretch in the transfer case (AWD)??? Never had AWD before and I don't know a whole lot about it...

Also, the shift flutter does not seem to be getting any worse...just consistent....I dunno.
