Trans Fluid From The Factory Synthetic Or Not?

I am going to replace the trans. fluid and filter on my 2006 sierra (half ton 4wd) and hae a quick question. The factory manual says that it take Dexron VI but it does not say wether or not it is synthetic and you can buy it both ways, synthetic or non. I do not want to mix but I want to find out for sure. There is no easy way to tell because the rearend has synthetic gear lube and the front has mineral based gear lube. Does anybody KNOW what is actually in the trans from the factory? Thanks in advance!

Back in 2006 after I bought my truck I got a quart of Dexron VI fluid from the local Chevy dealer. The part number is #88861003, Gr 8.800. I believe that's the regular non-synthetic fluid. It does not say anything on the bottle about it being synthetic.

If you go to any parts place and get dexron VI you will be good to go. It is not a full synthetic fluid that came in your truck.
