Clutch Master Cylinder Reservoir Rubber Piece

Hello all,

 

I was hoping one of you would be able to help me. I was rebuilding my clutch master cylinder on my 89 K1500 5 speed, but when I pulled the reservoir off I somehow lost the little rubber grommet type piece that seals the reservoir into the master cylinder , and of course they don't sell those anywhere .

 

So, I was wondering if any of you guys with a 88 or 89 5 speed would be kind enough to take out your reservoir and perhaps take some pics and provide some dimensions of the rubber piece ? Then, I could possibly rig something up, instead of having to buy a whole new master cylinder as I've already bought a rebuild kit .

 

 

Sorry, I didn't read through all the sub forums, and now realize that I posted this in the wrong spot. So, if Mod could please delete this thread that would be great?

check out rockauto.com, i think what your looking for is in the master cylinder repair kit and the kit is like 10$

I don't think that is it..... It should have had a flat washer made on the top and a larger bore in it than that. That looked more like the seal for the back where the rod goes into the cylinder.

 

Probably unless the dealer sells it separate your going to have to buy a complete cylinder.

That's what I was afraid of. Having to buy a $40 master cylinder just for a 25 cent piece of rubber.
