Needing Tires

07 Silverado LTZ still w/ still same factory tires that are needing to be replaced very soon.

Whats the general good tire these days you guys like here on the forum?

I had an 04 Silverado and had a set of REVO's on it and loved those but heard the REVO2 are garbage.

Would prefer an AT Tire especially with winter coming up and our piss poor roads in Central Kentucky

Guidence and Recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I just went through te same dilemma. I had the Revo 2's and I like them but they wore rather quikly for my tastes. I also could not decide whether to get the LT or P tires. After about a month of reading and talking with other truck owners / tire shops, I went with the Michelin LTX MS/2 in a P rated tire.

I live in the northeast and no one I talked to has issues with the P rated tire in winter conditions. The truck drives better than new. I just put the tires on this past monday. Hope this helps a little

Thanks for your thoughts, I have been searching and reading reviews and have seen that that Cooper Discoverer AT3's are highly favorable.

I found them at Tirecrawler.com for $135.91 each x 4 = $543.64 plus 130.08 to ship fedex = 673.72 but there is a $75 Visa Debit Card offer available on them so that takes me under $600 before mounting.

Discounttiredirect.com has them for $175 each x 4 = $700 w/ free shipping so I've asked for them to beat it so will see how that goes they also have the same Visa Debit Card offer.

These are 265/70R17 115T OWL (is this a good rating tire??) I have no interest to get fancy rims or anything just want a good tire, dependable and do good with this winter coming up but also get good/decent performance in regular road conditions.

I'm curious for more responses and I thank you for your help

Michelin's MS2 and AT2 have very good reviews. At my previous job we ran the MS2 on our work trucks delivering to the mines and they did a nice job in all conditions. Very smooth and quiet ride. I am also needing tires and have narrowed my choices also the Cooper AT3 and Goodyear Silent Armor AT. I also like the Firestone Destination AT and General Grabber AT2.

Went with the Cooper, Discount Tire Direct contacted me today to beat tire crawlers and they beat them by over $20.00... Excellent customer service for sure.

Just wondering what about the TPMS what do I need to do with that?

Sounds like you made a good choice. I will contact DTD and see if they will do the same for me. The only thing you should have to do withthe TPMS is perform the relearn procedure dictated in your owners manual if the wheels are moved from their original position.

Bridgestone Dueller A/T RH/S There great in all weather and priced right. I have 10 km on mine and they are like brand new. Quite, good traction.

I just purchased Duratracs for my truck. I have talked to several people who have used them several seasons here in Alaska, and have had very favorable results. I am starting to see them more and more on the roads replacing the BFGs all terrains. Snow here should be here by the end of the week, so I will see how much I like them. Even on the highway on dry pavement, they are fairly quiet.

I just put on a set of Firestone Destination AT's, The look good and they are affordable, so far they seem to be a good tire. I did just read that the Cooper Discover's were one of the top rated in Consumer reports

I'm jacking this thread but I used to have the old Firestone Wilderness ATs on previous vehicles with excellent results. I've been told the Destination is the replacement after that craziness of Firestone tires. Let us know how they work out on your vehicle. Next time I need tires I would like some real world experience with these before I lay down the money.
