could you please tell me if there is any reason i cannot get any heat from my heater core in my 2000 gmc z71? Ive switched out controls in dash, the blower motor is blowing in all stages. Ive noticed that the heater hose to my heater core is hot, but the return is not. all my heat related fuses and relays appear to be operational. if anyone has had ths same problem or any ideas please let me know at [email protected]

thanks

thanks txab, ill try a flush, being new to these type of forums, i started to read more of these type of problems thru this site, the newer vehicles in the last 20 years of production are designed so that the ordinary layman is unable to fix problems that may occur. its a shame the car manufactures build vehicles now, that years ago a person could replace any part whithin 15 minutes (barring, engine, trans, or rearend.

Another thing to check is the coolant level. Sometimes if it's low the heating is affected

Check the heater hose connector from the core to the back of the block--these have a narrow aluminum tube/clip connector and get gummed up easily.
