i have a 93 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 350 and a 4l60e. the tranny will slip when in od when either shifting in to od at a gradual speed up. or will slip and kinda keep slipping while giving er. only slips everything all other gears are good other than hesitation going into reverse but i think that is very common. any help would be great. im thinking it needs a rebuild but i hear there may be a couple solenoids that might help/

Sounds like it might be low on oil or has low oil pressure. Could be something as simple as the filter seal not being seated and sucking air or a cracked pump seal.

How may miles on the vehicle? How often is the trans serviced? Has the vehicle been used for towing or over-heated?

the truck has 266,000 kms. as far as i have ever had it it has not been overheated and all it tows is a rzr side by side. i did just get the tranny flushed and filter changed not too long ago. it slipped a little before flush and got worse after. i thought the flush would fix but it backfired on me.

Flushing a high mileage vehicle often causes more problems than it cures unless the trans has been regularly flushed throughout the life of the trans.

Even a properly performed fluid and filter change will not correct a problem (other than a plugged filter). Best case scenario is it will slow down deterioration. If the trans is acting up from anything other than a plugged filter, don't expect any positive change in symptoms. The best that one can hope for is a little more longevity.

A flush often pics up debris from the pan and passages in the trans case and that debris can get stuck in the valve body and cause havoc.

266K is not bad for 1 trans. This may be a good time to have it rebuilt, before something breaks.

That is what i was affraid of. im not sure if the truck is worth much more than the rebuild

Wavery hit it right on the nail. My trans went along time w/o being flushed and then it started slipping on me. i thought a flush would fix it and it was great for about a year then i hauled a pretty well loaded 12ft Uhaul trailor with her and was buying a new tranny the next week

In your case, it was the miles (and towing) that did you in. If the flush causes problems, it will show up right away.

If the oil is up to normal level then its time for a rebuild.Once it starts slipping theres nothing that can fix unless it is rebuilt.

3-4 clutch is done ,time for a build or a replacement tranny from GM ,they have a 3 yr warranty and a cooler flush and flow rate thru it is recorded on the work order

Not only a 3 year warranty, but a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty. Only sidestep is the near 1800 dollar list price on some of them.

Don't forget to add another ~$500 or so for a new converter.

Check your Throttle Position Sensor. When mine went bad, I had similar issues in overdrive with my 4L60e.
