Sub with rear organizer

Recommended Posts

So I want to get a single 10'' or 12'' for under my rear passenger seat but I have the GM Accessories rear seat organizer which spans the entire seat. What's the best way for me get a sub/amp in there without cutting part of the organizer off? What about amp location?

I am not sure but I thought they had one for that console too, but I could be wrong.

The other option would be the Kenwood powered subwoofers.

I believe these are small enough to fit under the front seats. I was considering doing this with my system. I have never used these and have never heard them after they were hooked up so I cannot vouch for them. Sorry.

Here is another option:

Thanks for the reply man but I definitely have the big center console without the bench seat.

JL audio does make the Stealth Box version for the LTZ full center console. Check out the JL audio website or Crutchfield and you will find it.

I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has experience with this Kenwood. I also need a good option that I can use with the rear underseat storage.

Well it doesn't look like this Kenwood KSC-SW10 will fit under either of the front seats in my 2011 Crew Cab. But it easily fits in the underseat storage box in the backseat. That underseat storage box is not completely sealed, either. There is about a half inch opening between it and the seat, and the back of the storage box is open as well.

Any of you audio gurus think this unit would sound good mounted inside the underseat storage box?

So I bought the Kenwood KSC-SW10 and had an audio shop install it in the GM rear organizer.

It fit perfectly and sounds great! No rattles at all.

The shop mounted the remote to the right of the steering wheel.

This little powered sub is perfect for what I wanted. Really enhanced the overall sound in my truck. But if you want to shatter windows across the street, this sub is not for you. But a good buy for me.

Awesome! I have been wondering how these sound since they came out. It looks a lot bigger in your photo than what I pictured from the photo on crutchfield... Do you think this would be able to be mounted behind the back seat on the cab wall?

It is a little bigger than I thought it would be, too. As for fitting on the back wall, I'm not sure. Just looking at it I wouldn't think so. If it does fit, it looks like it would be VERY tight. But I can't be sure.

I really love what this little thing has done for my sound! Perfect clean bass. But again, not if you want to shake the whole neighborhood.
