Doing this the right way...

Ok so with your guys help I've decide what lift kit I want, however I still have a lot of variables I want to get sorted out before I start handing out checks.

First off I should start with my truck, I have a 2011 gmc Sierra 1500 reg cab long bed 4x4 with a 5.3 6 speed auto and 3.08 open rear diff.

Now I plan on using the fabtech 6 in kit and running 35s. I figure that's going to require a re gear, I don't know the math involved but what size gear would I need to get back to the factory set up, or at least close to it? I was thinking maybe a 3.73. I also plan on putting at least an eaton posi back there too. Another question Is what axle do I have? Figure it's probably just a 10 bolt but I don't know what the front is and havnt gotten underneath to look.

Another thing I'm curious about is driveshafts. I wouldn't imagine a 6in lift would require longer shafts but I just don't know for sure.

I think that's about it. I do plan on maybe getting a black bear tune sometime in the future but for now I'm just gonna focus on the chassis.

TIA guys

Ok thats what I was wondering, I wasnt sure exactly which 10 bolt I had, what about the front diff? I assume thats not just standard 10 bolt...or is it?
