Last night, i kept having a dream that i had managed to keep my 2000 Trans Am that i traded in on my 2002 F150... i had paid off the T/A and kept in a storage facility.. i would go drive it every weekend, take the t-tops off... Gawd, i miss that car! It's been almost 10 years and i still miss it! I dreamed i traded it and my F150 in on a new 2014 GMC Sierra with the 6.2... felt great until i woke up and realized i was still driving a 9 year old F150...lol... oh, well it's paid for!

Yeah, it really has been a good truck. My very first Ford..hell, first one in my family to own a Ford..been very dependable.. only left me stranded a few months ago when the fuel pump went out all of a sudden. But, one day it will be replaced with a new GMC...

I had a restored 76 camaro with a 383 motor 4-speed with 3.73 gears. Absolutely loved that car and sold it for cash to get married. That was 19 years ago and I still miss that car. :nonod:

I keep hope believing I'll own another one day that equals the one I sold.

Have you seen that commercial where the kids track down their dads 65 Impala? Damn near brought a tear to my eye, my dad gave up his 64 SS when I was born. Mom drove us around in her 66 4 door Impala untill it finally became too beat up to run reliably. The 64 is gone, but I would love to track down that 66. I was 9 years old when we let someone drive it away from the house, what a gunship!!

Only a Chevy....

Growing up, my dad had a 1961 Impala 2 door bubble top that he bought brand new. Had a 283 4 bbl with three on the tree and overdrive. he sold it when i was in high school, 1988-89, somewhere in there. Car had 225,000 miles on it when he parked it. Needed to have the engine overhauled, it had seized because it sat so long. No rust on it, all original. He sold it to some cowboy who loved Impalas, and he tried to turn it into a show car. Painted it lavender, louvered the hood, welded two rear bumpers together... he brought it back by when he was nearly finished. Destroyed the car.. i could not even look at it without getting sick..i would love to find one same year and options and restore it for my dad...he still had the original bill of sale in the glove box...paid $2,237.00 for it.

My uncle bought his '68 Camaro when he was 15, drove it home from the square in Crown Point Indiana without a license, he is mid 40's now. (Those that know Dillinger know Crown Point) He has somehow kept it all these years and it was the first muscle car I have ever rode in. It had a built 327, ran well over 7 grand reliable, and he is a guy that believes you should drive the hell out of what you build. My dad make me wear my motorcross helmet when I was a kid and rode with him, he knew crazy burnouts were to come. Hell one time he blew the freeze plug out of the motor and him and I pushed it over a mile home. I'll never forget the memories of being scared as hell and also loving every minute of the rides he gave me.

It got fresh paint and a built 350 with over 500hp about 6-8 years ago and doesn't hit the road much anymore. His kids are both in high school sports and are always doing something. I know this is a thread about selling that car you wish you still had but this is a car that if he ever sells it will kill me. That car is what made me a HP junkie, a GM junkie, made me want to build up what I drive, and also made me want to learn how to wheel like he could, He also taught me how to maintain a vehicle the right way and the fine line between having fun with your baby and beating her up.
