Shift Noise

My truck has started to make a "clunk" when shifting. I do not believe this

is the driveline cluck. Any ideas? Thanks!

Unfortunately you may need to add a few more details. Clunking constantly, speeds when clunks, etc. ?? Also you vehicle info doesn't appear on your display, please post it up.

Sorry about that, fixed. It's not constant. 1st to 2 gear. Kinda sounds like it's shifting hard but its not. It's smooth. That's the best way I can describe it.

Which engine and trans do you have? I have the old 4L60e and it make a "clunk" most of the time when shift at slow speeds/acceleration. Used to have a Sonoma with same trans also made same clunk as well. If this is the case I wouldn't worry about it. Beyond that I apologize I can't be more helpful as I'm not a trans guy. Depending on your mileage you can also check your fluid level/condition as a first start. If it's low you'll have problems, too high isn't good either. If fluid looks brown/blackish or smell burnt your probably looking at a trans rebuild (I only say this based on reading from this forum). Then you could also do a search for the slip yoke clunk & relubing of splines...also some good reading for some possible answers to your question. Good luck & happy reading.

_{its normal for the 4l60e, mine does it on occasion, along with the other 4 5.3/4.8 equiped trucks with the 4l60e...i never got an explanation as to what causes it though, i know GM released a flash for the computer to help lessen this "bump" shift}
