classic power trucks

When someone speaks of a truck, for now classified as anything older than current body style's, what "sounds" the best to you? 98 & older Chevys, 96 and back fords, 2001 and back dodges.

 

For me it's gotta be the word "350". It seems like the name holds more than what they actuallty had in terms of power(TI engines). seems like most people hear "350" and they think, that's gotta be FAST.

"454SS" comes to mind

The 454 SS was an awesome truck. Had enough torque to melt the tires right off the rims. Too bad it wasnt faster though, It only had about 270hp? and ran mid 15's in the 1/4.

Yeah 454SS has got to be it for me, I just love seein it on the bedside of those black trucks from the late 80's and early 90's.  :thumb:

I guess, but unless you grew up thinking that 4 bangers were powerful you know not to f*ck w/ 454 cubic inches of power.  I remember an old pickup at work w/ the 454, we were getting rid of it and I emptied all of the tools out and then took it out back to wash all the sand and gravel out of the bed.  If you put the pedal down more than half way you were gonna roas the tires.  Heck, it even idled fast.

I like all the generations in all honesty.  Each gen has a certain look when done up the right way.

 

And of course, I'd require a BBC be under the bonnet.

I have favorites in all 3 of them. If we're talking performance,then here's my list.

 

Chevy: 67-72 c-10- They make perfect Street-Trucks

 

Ford: '93-'96 F-150 Lighting- IMO, they're better than the current SVT lightings (Based on looks) we'reused to eeing today.

 

 

Dodge: "The Little Red Express"- They are jsut plain Bada$$! Real Eye-catchers too!
