GMT-800 Mirror Swap

just did it. was a christmas present. they were kool-vue GM73EL-S and GM73ER-S Mirrors. the 06 and newer style tow mirrors with signals. i had the DL8 mirrors. it was a straight plug and play. i love them and makes the truck look more like a truck.

Let me know how you like them. Probably gonna be my next project once snow plowing starts (if it ever does)

There are threads that explain how to 'level' this mirrors like they are on the '07.5's and up. I leveled mine before I installed them, it involved adding some washers to the mounting lugs.

So what exactly are the D8 mirros you had? Mine are power with no heat or other options like heat or turn signals. Would these be a plug-n-nplay swap as well?

DL8 mirrors are power glass, heated, manual folding mirrors. My current truck came with DL8 mirrors from the factory, and I got a set of GM tow mirrors from ebay and they were plug and play. Flashers and heat work.
