Oil Pressure light?

I just got a 2002 Sierra with a 4.8 and the oil pressure guage is erratic. It's probably a bad stepper motor. Can someone tell me if there is a low-pressure warning light that would come on if there is a problem with the oil pressure?

It could be a sending unit problem

i looked and your owners manual is not avail to me online,please check it ,,,

 

you can throw a sending unit at it or have a master gauge installed and see for sure ,those years of clusters do go for a crap ,there is a thread of stepper motors somewhere

Yeah probably the sender unit. That really sucks because i just had the intake off changing my knock sensors and could have gotten to the sender much easier. I have changed stepper motors too, but I'm not getting any signal at all at the guage.
