Hub Bearings

I have to replace the hub bearings on my 2002 Sierra 1500 4x4 this week. Could anyone tell me how many pounds I have to torque the axle bolt on reassembly? Anyone have any tricks or hints to make this job easier?

if it aint tight it aint right works for automotive and in the bedroom, you're gonna want a bfh incase the old one is seized on there, same with the old rotor. make sure you have plenty of tools and plenty of time. also idk where you got the replacement hub but i never have good luck with aftermarket ones. ive seen too many cheap aftermarket hubs wear out in just a few months.. i only use oem hubs when i do them, costs a little bit more but last far far longer

Govtech4 I'm changing both because the truck has 130k on it and I have a 7.5 Fisher plow on it. Driver side is humming like crazy so I figure the passenger side can't be far behind.

Debo511 I found several sites on-line that say 155 ft lbs for the axle nut. Where did you get 177 ft lbs

GM service manual shows the 177 figure.
