Low Brake Pedal

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I got a 2007 2500HD Sierra classic with the 8.1L. The brake pedal goes down very low before starting to brake the vehicle. However it does not begin to leak down while holding pressure like a bad master cylinder would do. I was wondering if there was an adjustment or something to raise the pedal?

I have bled the brakes already nermous times thinking it was air but no differance.

any ideas?

If you have rear drums the shoes may need adjustment. If not maybe a fluid or even a brake hose replacement is due. Inspect your hoses carefully for blistering.

Caliper could be frozen, or pads are frozen, sticking in the slides. Could also be a rusted or frozen caliper pin. If any of these do not work rite it will cause a low or soft pedal. I would take the brakes apart, clean and lube up these parts, frt and rear brakes. Put new brakes on if needed. Should be good to go.
