Best source for GM OEM parts - Any experience with GM Parts East?

Quick question: What recommendations for reliable and honest on-line vendors of GM OEM parts for 2003 Chevy Suburban 2500 4WD can members provide?

 

Please respond with positive and negative experiences

 

My Google searches have yielded GM Parts East and GM Parts Giant.

 

GM Parts East provides detailed parts diagram and good discount prices. GM Parts Giant also provides drawings, but I have noted a few negative customer feedbacks during Google search.

I have used GMPartsDirect several times. The prices are cheap BUT you get charged a lot for shipping. Even though the shipping is more expensive than anywhere else, the final price is still lower. Never had any toruble with them, sometimes takes a while to receive item though because they pretty much have everything listed as a "special order non-returnable part". Customer service seems a to be hit or miss but I never had any issues with that, they always got back to me within 24hrs.

LMC truck always seems to have all the replacement parts for trucks/suv's and have very reasonable prices and everybody I've asked about restoring/maintaining parts they say LMC is the way to go.

I placed an order today with GM Parts East and will provide feedback on my experience. The exploded diagrams and quick reply to my email so far have proven positive.

I ordered things for top-to-bottom fluid change last year. Quick, cheap, accurate, packaged well. Will use them again.

BEWARE GMPARTSEAST !!!

 

After waiting for almost a month to receive a Weatherstrip for a hatchback, I ended up requesting a return. The customer service department is particularly slow and difficult to deal with. I received the weatherstrip in a plain brown box so no big deal I requested an RMA and sent it back because it didn't work for my car. Here is the response I got!! Can you believe that they had the nerve to reject my return because of the box it was shipped in! It didn't come with any type of manufacturing packaging it was a plain brown box and guess what they will ship it to the next guy in a plain brown box! How insane is that! Don't BUY! Don't BUY! from GMPARTSEAST

We have received your return. Unfortunately we cannot accept the return as the part was sent back in a US Postal box and not with the original packaging like the requirement stated.

 

Due to the situation we have a few options. If you still have the original packaging and box you can send that to our warehouse to complete the return.

 

If you do not have the original packaging we would have to return the part back to you since we cannot accept the return.
