Okay dad's 2002 DMAX SES light has decided to come on and stay on.  Well your like big deal right?  Well I was a first but now the truck sound seriously wrong and all acceleration is gone I mean like I could out run the truck on foot.  I think it is something big.. Pray for Her she needs it.  Have you guys had a similiar problem?

No Worries,

Just put some diesel fuel conditioner to disperse the water. You should do that year around to keep the water in solution.

If you have too much water in it I would change the fuel filter as well. I had good luck with the Gunk fuel conditioner.

Larry,

2001 Chev K3500 Crew LT 8.1L, Alli Tranny. I had diesels for 20 years prior to this truck.

PS. If there is no water you might be running on summer diesel fuel. The same conditioner will prevent the diesel fuel from gelling in the cold.

Thanks.. Dad put a conditioner of some sort in and the truck seems to be running right and the SES light went off.  So I thinks its good.  do you think he should still have it checked out?

I was gonna say, it sounded like water in the system.

IF you capture the code, I may be able (depending on work load at the dealer) be able to get into the SI2000 system from home and look up the diagnostic steps for your DTC code.

I'm working on it.. I'm going to figure out what the problem is.  Thanks CMNT I'll get the code for you if you don't mind.
