TPMS Sensor - Relearn Tool - and tires are BLEEPIN expensive

I got a bad TMPS sensor and my truck is a 07 so I am assuming its original from when it was purchased new. Anybody give me some insight on the life expectancy of those things? Should I replace all 4 at once or just the one since we are talking prob 5 to 6 years old? Also like I said got a 07 and mine has the tire relearn issue as many with the 07 have it wont get past the first couple of tires and when I say everything I have tried EVERYTHING I can to get it to work that I can find talking to people and searching the internet. My dealer will relearn them for free if I go by there but its a complete pain in the @$$ to go up there and wait while its done. My wife is a store manager for Walmart so I get my tires rotated there (only because of her job title I get the red carpet treatment so to speak so its done correctly and I only let one guy work on it he has been there 15 years) I do most of my oil changes at home and only go to the dealer every so often, so like I said a pain in the @ for me to go to the dealer. So I am pretty sure I am gonna invest in a relearn tool. Anybody use one at home? What kind to get, price, and how easy is it to do compared to the standard way of relearn from the DIC and letting out or adding pressure.

Also been shopping for tires the past couple of weeks my 245/70/17's that came with the truck are about ready to be replaced and I really want something bigger and more aggressive looking so after looking through about a million of the "how big of a tire can I run on my truck" threads I decided I wanted a 285/70/17 to go on mine and like the title says tires are BLEEPIN expensive!!! However I feel like a pretty good deal on mine if you cal $750 for tires a good deal. Got 4 new Nitto Terra Grapplers mounted, balanced, shipped, taxes and enviro fees out the door for $758.27 total. Hopefully I will them mounted up by the weekend and my truck will look more like a truck!

Thanks in advance for any advice or info on the TMPS sensors and relearn tool......

If I were getting new tires installed and 1 was bad, I would probably just replace all of them during the process, you can find them around for ~$100-120/set

Guys have been talking about the http://www.etoolcart...e-el-50448.aspx

I never actually watched them do the relearn I am assuming the stem on that tool is used to go on the valve stem to send some kind of signal to the computer based on which sensor you are at?

My truck is fine (2011) with the letting air out process. I believe you just point the tool to the sensor and it sends a signal for relearn?

I got the relearn tool off ebay. It's the el-50448 NUKE_1 mentioned. I got it from the same guys he supplied a link to. It's super easy and for $90 or less including shipping a good deal as far as I'm concerned. Once you put the truck in relearn mode you put the tool on the tire next to the valve stem and hit a button and it's done. Then you move on to the next tire. Whole process takes less than 30 seconds. And best thing is you don't have to add more air when your done. I've got 3 sets of oem tires and now when I switch up the set I'm running or rotate I can do the relearn very quickly (plus I couldn't ever get the letting air out method to work).

Within the next few months, I plan to purchase new tires and rims for my 2012 Yukon (20" stock going to 22"), I asked the salesman (@ Discont Tire) how they would calibrate the new VDO TPMS sensors to the vehicle, and he took out a hand held device that will be plugged into the computer port of the vehicle, and it will send the new TPMS serial numbers and their position on the vehicle into the computer. He stated they have done this many times over the years (2007 and up) and he has never had any problems using this method.
