Don't get me wrong. I've been to Cancun twice, first time in 04, loved it so much went back in 06. But with all the violence there is no way. Plus, if you don't get ouf to see the Mayan ruins then it's a waste in my opinion. I get that you want to spend time with the wife, but the gangs over there will kidnap you if they even think you have money. Good luck and have fun.

we went to Tulum back in 2009, it was nice, but there's better ruins in that region. best part of that trip was Xel Ha, a waterpark located in a natural estuary.
