Steering wheel "buzz"

My friend has a 2004 Tahoe 4x4 and when he turns to the left, he feels a fast vibration in the steering wheel. When turning to the right, or driving straight, it's normal. Any ideas what to look at?

Why do you say that? No ideas on what to check out? He heard it may be a problem with the steering box.

Wheel bearing.

Does he have larger tires that are rubbing?

Nope. He has factory size tires. I'll tell him to check the wheel bearing. Does the steering box make any noises when it goes bad?

many many posts on this issue......i also have the same problem w/my 06 and have yet to find a fix!

I think what you're hearing is the horn ring inside the steering column. My 2000 would make a strange sound while turning to the left also.

My 2011 makes a noise at full lock to either side. I think that's just the power steering. Not sure if this is the same sound you all are hearing
