Replaced Tranny Cooler Lines

Just finished what turned out to be a 3 hour job replacing all of my ATF cooler lines (including aux. cooler) on my GMT-800. Man, I had forgotten how nasty of a job that is. 6 years ago I installed the factory auxiliary trans cooler, this necessitated installing two new lines out of the three. Well, the one remaining original line started leaking big time. So, I replaced all of them today. Man, getting those lines from the transmission to the radiator/aux. cooler out is a major biznatch. Those things are really weaved in there. Hopefully these oem replacements will last as long as the first ones. I would recommend this procedure to anybody that has leaking cooler lines, just take your time and know it's going to take a while.

I got lucky with my gmt800 2003 tahoe. My shop that I've dealt with for over 10 years broke a trans cooler line where it connects to the cooler and therefore replaced the factory trans cooler and lines at cost. The lines were already seaping so I was not unhappy at all. It had about 185k miles at the time.

I got all three lines for like 100 bucks or so. That was at the dealership, www.gmpartseast.com has them for cheaper. I have about 158k on my truck now, how many miles do you have on yours? Take a look at them and make sure they aren't leaking (where the flexible rubber sections splice into the metal). Mine were putting out pretty good. Enough to get ATF on the surrounding frame structures.
