1968 GMC Disc Brake Conversion Help?

I looking for some input,Advise on conversion fro drum to disc on front of Truck,to retain 6-lug wheels. The truck has some old school wheels that I think looks very cool on the truck. It is mostly stock 350/350 in it,also needs power brakes installed. I am also a Tech. by trade. I found a 1971 C10 in a salvage yard with stock disc brakes, but it has 5-lug wheel, will 6-lug disc fit off mid to late 70's C20?

Thank for any help.

As far as I know, the 67-72 body style 1/2 ton 2wd has runs 5 lug wheels as you found out. The same truck in 4wd (k10) are 6 lug. And 3/4 tons (from at least 1960-current) will have 8 lug wheels, 2 or 4wd (with a few light duty 2500 6 lug exceptions along the way).

Since most all disc brake conversion kits change to 5 lug (for wheel choices), you could look into some 5-6 lug adapters. Run your wheels with the convenience of a conversion kit and they don't break the bank.

Classic industries has the 6 lug rotors you are looking for. I did the same kit to my 68 step side. Cost about 500the for the entire co version

Thanks oldschool327. I haven't look there yet. Still wonder if the 5-lug spindles would work to put 6-lug rotors on. I can get all the parts for $75.00. Don't know if the ball joints are the same.
