Still waiting for Jake to reply with his quote, been over a week so I shot him another email, but onto other things, I didnt want to start another thread so Ill jump this one. When I get the headers on, pacesetter LT's, Im going to leave the cats off but should I go with a y pipe or an x-pipe? I have been debating this for a little while and not sure what I would benefit from, I plan on going dual exhaust in front of the tires with some cherry bomb extremes for the muffs. What would yall recommend?

That setup will be very loud.People do ypipes because theres very little loss from a single to a true dual setup plus the cost factor. If your going for sound then true dual without a doubt if your looking to save money and still have a nice rumble then go with a single.Theres not much lost going with a single exhaust. If it was my truck i would choice this setup LT's,xpipe,no cats, dumped thrush welded.

That was the original plan, I currently have the exhaust dumped under the cab but since I am going custom I was either going to dump again just before the axle, or dual out right infront of the tires. And I don't mind the exhaust being loud or drone so any loud muff will do. Are the thrush glass-packs or just a normal style muffler?

Thrush welded is a 2 chambered muffler just like the super 40 or the super 44.They sound very good.I had them on my LT1 caprice dumped in front of rear it sounded very good!then inspection came around again and forced me to run pipes out the back at that point it was to quiet for me and straight pipes went on it,Im thinking about getting them again i love em and will always recommend them,If you do go with the CBE get the dual in and dual out no sense of paying 120 for 2 mufflers when you can get one for 60.To be truthful i love loud exhaust but i think the CBE with longtubes and no cats would be crazy loud especially if its a DD.I had the CBE dumped on my 90 gmc sierra and that was loud dumped,i have db meter which read 90dbs at idle 800rpm.

Lucky me I have my truck registered in a county that doesnt require inspections, but yeah that sounds good, only problem im having is finding an x-pipe for the ol' beast. Is it just better to go to an exhaust shop and have them custom fab one along with the rest of the system? I dont want to spend a fortune on the system if I dont have too.

All you need is 2 90* bends the rest is just straight pipe. Then again i did this on a OBS so it may be different for you.You can run a hpipe just cut 2 inner holes in a peice of pipe and weld a little section to each side.

Been a few years since I worked a welder lol. Either Ill get them made or continue to look. But hopefully it will turn out awesome!

i just found my favorite muffler its the magnaflow 10426 you should look into instead of that thrush welded i told you about.i heard it on a cammed 6L

Maybe alittle but still should sound great.Im starting to get tired of the flowmaster sound everyone around here has a flowmaster.

Yeah seems to be popular, thats why originally i was going to go with the cherry bomb extremes but those magna flows seems to be plenty loud!

Well another update, The guy from Texas Speed has not responded to any of my emails anymore so not sure about his cam; but, I did contact Crane Cams and they said, well all companies said that their cam(s) were better performers, that this cam would better suit my application.

HR-216/3241-2S-15 (Z-CAM). what do yall think of this one?

Will I be able to run 3in exhaust from the heads? or should I go with 2.5in?

I think the crane 1449551 is the best all around cam made from crane that is.especially for a dd.for true duals i wouldnt go bigger then 2 1/2.Unless you have more future plans, stroker,FI,etc.
