wheel back spacing

im looking at a set of pro comp 7033 an was hoping a 17x9 with 4.75 backspacing would fit a leveled (2.25 kit) 2011 1500 4x4 with out any issues

That 4.75" backspacing is going to give it about a -6mm offset....which will cause problems if you want to run a larger tire. Stock backspacing is closer to 5.75". If you plan to run stock tires, you will probably be ok, but a larger tire may get into the fenders when you turn....unless you're willing to trim quite a bit.

I just put some Pro Comp 7036 17x9 w/ 4.75 backspace on my 2008 Sierra. WIth a stock 265 tire there are no issues, however, when i tried to put my 285's on i could barely turn out of a parking lot- would have had to cut metal. I have a 2" level installed.

 

The wheels still look good, but i really wish i could get the bigger tire. I'm looking at installing a RC 1.25" body lift, hopefully that will give me a little more clearance and i wont have to cut as much...

 

From everything i read +18mm offset (about 5" backspace) is ideal for the nnbs trucks.

i was gonna run 285/70 17, would it make a difference if it was a 17x8 wheel with 4.5 back spacing

well i pulled the trigger an bought 17x9 xd addicts with 5.70 back spacing form 4wheelonline, anybody now anything about kanati mug hogs discount tire carries them and there on the lower end of the price range
