It is worth getting registered and checking in. I got the possible battery drain recall before my dealer knew.  It uses your VIN to access all info pertinent to your vehicle.  Just passing it on to anyone who may not be aware of it.

Includes:

Maintenance reminders

Recall and safety information

Service history tracking

PDA applications

Your owner's manual

Vehicle value estimates

Warranty and service information

News and events

Special offers and privileges

My 2001 HD VIN won't work at that site...   :jester:

Oh Well...  It seems pretty cool for all the 1500 series guys though...  Thanks for the link.  :thumb:

I registered the Vette on there but didn't think about the truck.  I was a little paranoid about it at first thinking it might be a way they can get out of warranty work but it looks OK. maybe....I hope ???  ???

I was gonna ask if it's worth the time...

I added the Tahoe, but for some reason it won't take the vin on my '95.

Thanks for bringing up that it is a good site.

I added my 2002 HD the week I got it.  I like it.  I wish it had more info though.

The GMC "HD's" can be registered.  I sent them an email about the Chevy 2500HD not working...

Guess it's time to send some more email.  I tried registering my SD a couple weeks after I bought it but it wouldn't take the VIN.  They told me I needed to wait six to eight weeks and it's been three months.

Thanks for the reminder TxDoc.

As long as you bought your truck near where you live you can register with out any problems.  My truck was ordered by a dealer in OK and I bought it used from a dealer in OK but the owner center will not regiseter the VIN because when the look at it the VIN is from a nother area.  But they know I own the truck because they have sent me the recall on the seatbelts and on the tire handle.  This is just my experience with it. :jester:

I finally got both my vehicles registered there after some hassle, but it works.  If it doesn't recognize your VIN, you can email them, and they'll get back to you and manually register it.  Actually they seemed pretty willing to help, I have to say.  :jester:

One vague issue though:  One vehicle is officially registered in my wife's name (Alero) and then '03 Blue is in my name - I had to create 2 separate log-ins, rather than having one log in and 2 vehicles there.  Oh well.

The most useful part for me is keeping a log of maintenance and repair work all in one place.  What TX said about reminders is useful too, IMO.
