Cruise controll not working

Latley my cruise controll is not working,or if I can get it to work it stopps working when I hit a bump.I have noticed that the indicator light for my aftermarket brake controller is lit up when cruise is not working, sometimes if I tap my foot on the side of the brake pedal the indicator light goes out and cruise works.I looked under the dash and I dont see any switches on the brake pedal arm,and no the brake lights are not sticking on eiather, any thoughts or suggestions as to what could be the cause of this, and where are the switches for the brake light activation and cruise controll cancell if they are not on the brake pedal.

From my understanding, the 11s had a problem with the brake pedal switch. I don't know where it is located but from what I've read GM released an updated switch that "should" fix you right up, if that is indeed the problem.

Sounds like the brake light switch is set a little loose. I'm betting that when your brake controller light is on your brakes lights are on also, driving the people behind you nuts.

Actually,no the brake lights are not on,but on some trucks there is one switch for the brakes and one for the cruise disengage, but I can't find either on mine.

I will look into this,I just diden't want to go to the dealership untill I knew exactly what the problem was,I could see them trying to blame it on the brake controller, and then billing me for a service.

as long as the brake controller is hooked up correctly to the factory wires that are pre terminated under the dash it shouldn't be a problem. you can eliminate it by disconnecting the brake controller

I agree, sounds like an issue with the pedal switch. I encourage you to consult with your dealer for an official diagnosis.

Please keep us posted.

Finally got a chance to get to the dealer and it was indeed the pedal switch, seems it is a common problem, they had the switch right there and fixed it before I left, now I'm cruising again.

exact same problem with mine. if you pull a trailor with brakes, your brakes will come on also. it is a major pita. the sensor is bad on mine, havent found the time to fix it. i just have to tap the brake pedal all the time.
