Hello,

I am having trouble with my A/C working in my 1994 GMC Sierra 1500 6.5 Turbo Diesel. I just inherited it from a family member and love the truck. The AC worked great for about a month after I brought it to Georgia from PA. All the sudden the AC has been working intermittently. When I press the AC button the compressor sometimes engages and cold air then comes, but sometimes I press the AC button and the compressor does not engage and warm air blows. Very sporadic at different times of the day. The morning drive in it might work and the afternoon drive home it won’t and the other way around. Any suggestions? Am I low on refrigerant?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately it needs to be working to properly check refrigerant pressures so be aware of that when checking it. I'd would start with a level check. Also be sure to look at all fuses and wiring for blown fuses, loose or corroded wires, make sure belt is still doing it's job. Start with the visible, easily checked items then move on. It may end up requiring you to take your truck to a pro to repair.
